Dear Colleague,
ORAL DISEASES
An Update in Diagnosis, Histopathology and Treatment Main Guest Lecturer
James J. Sciubba, DMD, PhD
The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Baltimore, MD
On Oct. 24th and 25th, 2015 (Sat./Sunday), the next Salzburg Weekend Seminar will be organized by the Austrian Society for Maxillofacial Surgery. It will take place under the auspices of the Euro- pean Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery and in cooperation with the Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg. The topic will be „ORAL DISEASES“.

During the past decade some oral diseases have changed their clinical appearance and behaviour, like drug-induced osteonecrosis of the jaws, graft-versus-host reaction, or HPV-positive squamous cell carcinoma, resulting in a modification of treament for the benefit of the patient. The Seminar is intended to present an update of old and new entities for the clinician, both from morphological and therapeutic aspects. Therefore all specialties dealing with diseases of the oral cavity are invited to attend. An internationally renowned expert has been invited: Professor James J. Sciubba from the Milton J. Dance Head & Neck Center at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He has worked and published extensively in oral pathology and medicine. He is well-known for the 6th edition of the textbook „Oral Pathology - Clinical Pathologic Correlations“ by Regezi, Sciubba and Jordan (2012).

Other experts will lecture on special issues like bone disorders, salivary gland pathology, diagnostic pitfalls and modern treatment options. All lectures will be in English. There will be a quiz for partici- pants with interesting cases. Lively participation in the discussions is welcome! Coffee, lunch and the dinner on Saturday, coffee on Sunday, a brief handout and a certificate are included in the registration fee.

The Seminar takes place in the Auditorium (Hörsaal) of the Universitätsklinikum Salzburg, Müllner Hauptstrasse 48.
