There are two reasons for the Association to implement a new web site. Firstly, the previous web site was costly and an unreasonable share of the budget had to be used to cover the expenses. Secondly, the new web site is very easy for the EAOM Board members to update and it is our ambition that all the information at the site should be up-dated.
The EAOM was founded in 1998 based on representations from a majority of European countries, now including Albania, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales, as well as non-European countries, including Australia, Brazil, Iran, Japan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Thailand...
The objectives of the EAOM are to:
Improve clinical care in the field of Oral Medicine across Europe, which is that area of special competence concerned with the health and diseases of the oral and peri-oral structures, especially the oral manifestations of systemic diseases and the oral and dental care of patients with special needs.
Promote education and research in Oral Medicine across Europe.
Promote interest in education and research in Oral Medicine at institutions, professional associations and industries.
Inform governments and other official institutions of the significance of Oral Medicine for oral and systemic health, and the recognition, prevention and treatment of oral diseases.
Promote exchange of scientific information.
